If you live in Wisconsin, you know that we are coming off of a rainy weekend (more than two inches in two days). What that meant for us was a little applesauce making on Saturday morning. Then we took a drive to Door County. We stopped for a snack at the infamous Wilson’s.
We drank hot cider and walked out on the pier, in the rain, at the Sister Bay Fall Fest. We ended the day with a late supper of homemade pizza and a roaring fire.
Sunday we had a lazy morning, eating cereal on the couch, snuggled under blankets and watching tv. The gals spent the middle of the day at my mom’s house, playing with their Bubba and aunties. While Veronica and Clarissa were away, Steve and I watched Netflix, enjoyed a fire in the fireplace, ate leftover pizza, and finally did our indoor Fall decorating.
When we were all together again in the evening, Clarissa and Veronica colored and we ate leftovers for supper, in the living room.
Our weekend was relaxed and slow. Other than dishes, sweeping, and vacuuming, we did no chores. There was no rushing. We didn’t run errands. We weren’t productive. On the other hand, we were warm (except at the festival on Saturday), happy, rested, and most importantly we were together (except for the few hours C and V were at my mom’s). It’s just what my little family needed.
What did you do over the weekend?
